I'd much rather loose my money on something I enjoy rather than some "stock."  Where's the joy in that?

I'm not so sure about any car even the mini as being a good investment in these times. As peoples retirement accounts and investments tank, collecting cars will be a hobby only the few can afford. I wouldn't be surprised to see a big drop in values. But on the other hand, those auctions like Barret-Jackson are filled with folks who still have plenty of money? I slept in my VW beetle once back in the 60's and I don't want to try sleeping in a mini.

In these troubled times, I can sleep well knowing that instead of funding my retirement these past 14 yrs. by putting money in the stock market, I chose to sink tens of thousands of dollars into four Minis. When they evict me from my home, I'll be able to choose which car to sleep in! Randy
